Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

I'm reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. It is the biography of a WWII veteran, Louie Zamperini. I gave this book to my son as a New Year's Gift. Giving books at New Year's is on of our family traditions. My son tells me he stayed up all night to finish it. Then he gave the book back to me so I could read it. Summer time is my catchup with all my reading time. I haven't finished the book yet. Right now, I am at the point where he has competed in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, the Japanese have attached Pearl Harbor and Louie is a gunner on a B24. I'll let you know what happens....

I finished the book! Another great documentation of human survival despite all odds. I was most impressed with how much a human can endure. Zamperini and his fellow survivors lived through conditions and abuse that we don't think we could possibly endure. The other highly impressive take-away is the power of forgiveness.
